Alex argues observes that scrutiny of charities has intensified and argues that they can, and should, act quickly do defend themselves where the need arises. He notes, however, that robust communications should go hand in hand with a willingness to ask difficult questions about policies and practices – and that the effectiveness of one depends on the other.
